Description

Pursuant to the Authority of 41USC 253 (c)(1) as set forth in FAR 6.302-1, NationalLibrary of Medicine (NLM) intends to negotiate a sole-source extension of (4) four months to contract number N01-LM-7-3512 with Dynamac Corporation. This extension will provide the same Hazardous Substance Data Bank (HSDB) file building support as under the current contract. The cumulative knowledge and work experience Dynamac gained during performance under the contract makes them uniquely qualified and capable of maintaining these critical services while the follow-on Solicitation RFP NLM-02-100/bkl is being competed, as it is not feasible or cost effective to train a new contractor for the short term of this extension. The work shall continue to consist of creating new HSDB records, and updating and enhancing existing chemical records with current information extracted from a variety of scientific and technical sources, including Government documents.This notice of intent is not a Request for Proposal. However,all offers received by April 15,2002, for this (4) four month extension will be considered by the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement for the (4) four month period.
