Description
THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS AS DESCRIBED BELOW. In anticipation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the subject project was competed against a group of our existing Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) 8(a) contracts. Project Description: Currently, various SI buildings have obsolete network protectors on their power distribution. The obsolete network protectors could create severe arc flash hazard and could cause the unexpected power outage due to old and obsolete components. Some old network protectors may have asbestos materials such as barrier/backer boards, control wiring and arc shoots. The following buildings/locations have network protectors to be replaced: 1) Castle/SIB (Smithsonian Institution Building) 2) Arts and Industries building (AIB) 3) NMAH (National Museum of America History) 4) DWRC (Donald W. Reynolds Center) Total number of network protectors to be replaced is 34. Duration of contract 180 days from notice to proceed. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 236220, and the annual size standard is 33,500,000.00. The estimated price range of this requirement is between $2,400,000.00 and $3,100,000.00. It is the Smithsonian's intent to award a Delivery Order under an existing IDIQ Contract. The Delivery Order will be awarded under the authority of FAR 16.505.
