- RedactedJA Only the Nuvasive MAS TLIF system consists of supplies and instruments to safely and effectively provide the best post-op outcome for the specific patient. The modular retractor is the only retractor of its kind on the market giving optimal operative corridor while allowing the procedure to be considered a minimally invasive spine fusion. The statutory authority permitting this award without providing for full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as cited in FAR 6.302-1(a) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
