Description

This Sources Sought Notice is used to determine sources for providing the TRASH COMPACTOR RJ-225 (2 CARDBOARD/1 PLASTIC) for the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center. NAICS Code 333318 Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses. This is not a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. The responses to this announcement will assist in determining the socio-economic set aside if feasible. The Veterans Administration is required by Public Law 109-461 to give first priority to SDVOSB and VOSB concerns if there should be sufficient firms available to compete under a set aside. If insufficient veteran owned and small business responses are not received, the action will be advertised as full and open competition, in which case, all interested parties responding shall be eligible to provide quotes. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Interested parties submitting a response to this inquiry must include the following information: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify applicable socioeconomic categories and any pertinent information which demonstrates firm s ability to meet the above requirement. All responses shall be submitted no later than 06 July 2020 at 1100 (11:00 AM) EST. Responses shall be emailed to ruth.morris@va.gov. STATEMENT OF REQUIREMENTS TRASH COMPACTORS RJ-225 Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Salem VA This solicitation uses a Brand Name Only description of the product required. However, the contracting office is interested in any vendors that can provide an equal item that meets the below salient characteristics. This permits prospective contractors to offer products other than those specifically referenced by brand name. ITEM# ITEM DESCRIPTION QUANTITY UNIT A205271333 Trash Compactors, (Two for Cardboard and One for Plastic recyclables) 3 EA Salient Characteristics for Requested Compactors Minimum inside footprint of compactor must be at least 60 inches. Maximum width of compactor must be no more than 81 inches. Ram must have replaceable wear shoes preferably cast iron for longevity. Charging box must have a NWRA National Waste and Recycling Association rating of at least 1.5 cubic yards. Ram Face needs to be a minimum of ½ steel plate. Unit needs to have a key operated control station that can be remotely mounted free of the unit. Ram cycle time cannot exceed 60 seconds. Maximum ram force must be at least 55000 pounds All Electrical components must be UL approved and remote controls must be weatherproof. Unit must have a side mounted power unit for service and maintenance. Charging box floor should be at least ½ in thick steel. Delivery Schedule Delivery will be made to the Salem VA Medical Center 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem VA 24153.
