Description
COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION NOTICE: The Washington DC VA Medical Center has been accredited by the Association of Assessment & Accreditation of Laboratory Care International since 1971 and requires Veterinary Services to examine its animals for research purposes to detect and determine the nature of diseases or injuries; treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery; Inoculate animals against various diseases such as rabies and distemper; when required, determine the cause of death, and serve as a member and advisor to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Subcommittee (IACUC) reviews research protocols involving animals for proper protection of animal subjects in the context of relevant welfare laws, regulation, and policies. The Washington DC VA Medical Center anticipates issuing a solicitation in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12 for this requirement on or about 8/14/2020, with a closing date for proposals on or about 8/28/2020. The solicitation will be available for download from http://www.fbo.gov. Interested contractors will be responsible for downloading copies of solicitation (and any subsequent amendments) from that website, and no hard copies will be made available. The solicitation will provide full information to contractors about the proposal submission process. Prospective offerors are encouraged to register their interest in the solicitation on the FBO website so that they are notified of the issuance of the solicitation and any amendments. Large and small businesses as well as non-profit organizations are welcome to respond in the event no Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses or Veteran Owned Small Businesses have the capacity to provide this service. The NAICS Code for this solicitation is 541940. To be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management data base at www.sam.gov. Registration is free and potential offerors are encouraged to visit the SAM website and register as soon as possible to avoid delays should they be selected for a contract award.
