Description
*Amended to extend the bid opening date to 8/28/2020 at 2PM. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.� W912PM20B0016 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract for Maintenance Dredging, Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point (MOTSU), Brunswick County, North Carolina. The work shall consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the basins and channels since they were last dredged.� Dredging of the channels and basins shall be performed by mechanical dredge (clamshell, dragline or dipper) or cutter suction/pipeline.� The dredging depth is 38 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth for the Approach Channel South Entrance, South Wharf Turning Basin, Approach Channel South to Center Wharf, the Center Wharf Turning Basin and Approach Channel Middle Entrance. Disposal of dredged material shall be in the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS). The environmental window for dredging by mechanical or cutter suction/pipeline dredge in the MOTSU basins and channels is 1 October - 30 June. There is no environmental window for the dredging of the basins and channels by mechanical dredge or transport to and disposal in the ODMDS.� The total quantity of material to be dredged, including allowable overdepth, is estimated to be 555,000 cubic yards. This solicitation is un-restricted. �The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. DUE TO THE GOVERNMENTAL SAFETY MEASURES IMPLEMENTED IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID- 19 PANDEMIC, WE WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTING BIDS FOR THIS REQUIREMENT ELECTRONICALLY THROUGH DOD SAFE (HTTPS://SAFE.APPS.MIL/). MORE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS RELATED TO THE SUBMISSION OF BIDS ARE ATTACHED WITHIN THIS SOLICITATION. IN ORDER TO SUBMIT A BID THROUGH DOD SAFE, OFFERORS ARE REQUIRED TO REQUEST A �REQUEST CODE� FROM THE CONTRACT SPECIALIST, AND/OR CONTRACTING OFFICER. DUE TO THE GOVERNMENTAL SAFETY MEASURES IMPLEMENTED IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE PUBLIC BID OPENING WILL ALSO BE HANDLED THROUGH REMOTE MEANS VIA A TELECONFERENCE LINE. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.� This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about July 21, 2020.� The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, facsimiles, etc) will be provided. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 � Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction and the size standard is $30,000,000.00.� Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible to receive an award from any Government solicitation.
