- USSOCOM intends to host an event in February 2021, named the Lightweight Machine Gun-Medium (LMG-M) Industry Day at its SOFWERX facility in Tampa, Florida. The LMG-M will be a belt- fed machine gun firing 338 Norma Magnum ammunition. The purpose of this event is to discuss and refine the ammunition specifications. Attendees are specifically with the MACHINE GUN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ONLY; this is not for the ammunition community.� Participants must be registered with the System for Award Management under NAICS Code 332994 Small Arms, Ordnance, and Ordnance Accessories Manufacturing �One-on-one sessions will be limited to 30 minutes per contractor. To participate in the LMG-M Industry event, please provide Mr. Greg Metty Gregory.metty@socom.mil and Mr. Darryl Barnes Darryl.d.barnes.ctr@socom.mil with a White Paper no later than 01 FEB 2021 at 3:00pm EST. The submissions shall include an overview of your company�s capability to manufacture medium weight machine guns and will be no longer than 5 pages.� The White Paper shall also include the names(s) and titles of those attending/dialing in from your company. Space is limited so please keep your list of attendees to three persons (3) to include team members. Only those entities whose papers have clearly defined their manufacturing capability will be invited to the event in February 2021. Participation in this event will be at participant expense. USSOCOM will not be responsible for any submission costs, travel costs, technology demonstration costs, or any other associated costs pertaining to the event. During the event, each participant will be allotted a private �one-on-one� session with the USSOCOM requirements panel to discuss the requirements. The forum will include a Q&A portion, and discussions may continue outside of the event. �The purpose of this Industry Day is to review the ammunition performance specification, and review test equipment used in the proposed solicitation.� This Industry event will be an informative meeting for vendors that can meet the current requirements and future needs of Special Operations Forces (SOF) Operators for LMG, certified in accordance with commercial standards. In addition to the review of the performance specification these sessions are to incorporate industry comments into the Request for Proposal (RFP) development process and gain a better understanding of recent Industry developments. Attendance at Industry Day is voluntary. The Government will not reimburse participants for any costs incurred for this event. Only those eligible to submit proposals may participate; foreign persons, as defined by the U.S. Department of State, under Title 22, Foreign Relations, Section 120.16, may not attend Industry Day. This notice shall not be construed as a Request for Prototype Proposal or an obligation on the part of the Government. An industry day schedule will be made available and emailed to all qualified vendors prior to the event. �All information and discussions that takes place at the Industry Day will be done at the unclassified level and are not intended to make changes to the Government�s requirements, unless specifically captured in the final solicitation. Questions will be addressed during the event; however the Government may not respond that day to all specific questions or comments submitted in response to this announcement or information provided as a result of this announcement. �
