- This Request for Information (RFI) seeks input from interested stakeholders including, but not limited to, the critical minerals (CM) sector and others in the following areas: geologic and mineral characterization, mining, mineral processing, and metallurgical industries; end-user technology manufacturers using CM and REE; and also national laboratories and academics involved with R&D geared toward attaining an uninterruptable domestic supply of CM including 15 individual rare earth elements (REE) lumped together as �rare earths�. For the purpose of this RFI, �critical minerals� is defined by Executive Order 13817 dated December 20, 2017.�� Submit information to:�CMsustainibility-RFI@hq.doe.gov�
