Description
This special notice is NOT to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. The intended contract action is for unique lab supplies solely provided by Biomerieux, Inc., which the government intends to request a quotation to meet this unique requirement for COVID lab tests. The anticipated statutory authorities permitting other than full and open competition for the requirement is implemented by FAR Part 13.106-1(b). The intended single source procurement will be made by a pricing agreement with Biomerieux, Inc. The lab reagents will be used on the Biomerieux Vidas 3 Instrumentation in the Core laboratory located in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service s San Antonio Laboratories of the STVHCS. The STVHCS has a continued need for Procalcitonin Reagents for the Biomerieux VIDAS 3 Instrumentation. The contractor must be able to provide FDA-Approved Procalcitonin Reagents for the Biomerieux Vidas 3 instrumentation located in the Core Laboratory of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service at Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital. Due to the proprietary nature of the Biomerieux instrumentation and Reagents, it is essential that only Biomerieux Reagents, controls and calibrators be used on the Biomerieux instrumentation. The testing done on this instrumentation is needed to test for sepsis and is currently being used as part of the Triage panel for COVID to screen for Acute Respiratory Distress syndrome, any service interruption would be detrimental to our veteran s health.
