Description

The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue, on a sole-source basis, a modification to contract N00024-18-C-2313 to Bath Iron Works (BIW), 700 Washington Street, Bath, ME 04530-2574, to maintain necessary Lead Yard engineering, technical support, special studies, and Flight III design work for DDG 51 Class Lead and Follow ship class configurations supporting FY23 baseline upgrades and special design studies. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1.� The resultant modification, will increase the number of hours under the aforementioned contract to continue delivery of critical design engineering requirements through the remainder of the contractual period of performance.� Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact BIW directly. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Disclaimer:� This pre-solicitation notice is for information only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to solicit contractual offers or award contracts.� The Government is not soliciting, nor will it accept, proposals as a result of this synopsis.� If a solicitation is issued in the future, it will be announced via the Governmentwide Point of Entry (GPE) (https://sam.gov/) and interested parties must comply with that announcement.� The Government will not reimburse respondents for any questions submitted or information provided as a result of this notice.� This is not an RFP or a promise to issue an RFP and this information is subject to modification and in no way binds the Government to award a contract.� However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which will be considered by the agency.�
