Description

REPLACE COOLING TOWER #2 PROJECT 637-20-102 Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 intends to release a Solicitation for Construction Services to replace Cooling Tower #2 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC. Requirement is for a general contractor to provide work which includes general construction alterations necessary for removal and disposal of existing structures and construction, and any other relevant work or trade for this project. This work entails removal and disposal of an existing cooling tower and sump and installation of a new cooling tower and sump. Portions of the existing cooling tower support structure will be re-used and some new structure will be required. Piping modifications and controls work will be required. New electrical feeds will be required to the new cooling tower. All works shall be completed in conformance with specifications and drawings provided in Solicitation. Work is composed of, but not limited to, management and performance of construction period services, permitting, demolition, construction, construction management, submittals, general construction, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, hazardous material removal, thermal and moisture protection, utility systems, finishes, scheduling, quality control, inspection/testing, environmental protection, recording (As-Built) drawings, and project closeout. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238220 with a size standard of $16.5M million dollars. The approximate Solicitation issue date will be 3 June 2022 with an approximate response due date of 5 July 2022. The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 IAW VAAR 836.204. A Pre-Bid Site Visit is tentatively projected for 11:00AM EDT on 9 June 2022. It is the responsibility of the Potential Offerors to bring all necessary personnel, inclusive of subcontractors, tooling, and materials necessary to the Pre-Bid Site Visit. The Government will NOT be providing paper copies of any solicitation, solicitation attachments or annexes, specifications, or drawings. The Government will NOT be reimbursing any costs associated with attendance or proposal preparation. The Solicitation will be issued on a restricted basis and will be 100% Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) concerns. To be eligible for award, the SDVOSB must be considered small under the relevant NAICS code and must be registered and verified in the following websites: Home  · VetBiz Portal (va.gov). Companies must have the Certified Veteran Enterprise (CVE) seal on their registration to be considered for an award. Potential Offerors are further advised that failure to register in the SAM database will render your firm ineligible for award.
