- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Lakehurst, NJ, requires the procurement of Nose Radar Installation/Removal Equipment Lift Set, Boeing Part Number (P/N): D0831E0001-1001, for the P- 8A Poseidon aircraft. This Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE) is required to remove and install the nose surveillance radar. Due to aircraft re-design, this PSE will replace old P/N: MC920001-162. This effort will include a quantity of one (1) Prototype asset for the United States Navy (USN) to complete a Test & Evaluation (T&E), with an Option to procure an additional quantity of 12 following a successful T&E event, to support the requirements of the USN. NAWCAD, Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Boeing Aerospace Operations, Inc. Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1), FAR 6.302-1, Boeing is the original equipment manufacturer and the sole designer and developer of the PSE, and the only company that is capable of meeting the requirements. The Government cannot release the technical data package required for the Nose Radar Installation/Removal Equipment Lift Set. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a full and open competitive requirement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to full and open competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Responses should reference N6833522R0188, and shall be submitted electronically to Contract Specialist, Cheryl Abele, at cheryl.a.abele.civ@us.navy.mil with the subject line ""P-8A Nose Radar Installation/Removal Equipment Lift Set"". All responses should be received no later than 10:00AM Eastern, 6 June 2022.
