Salient Characteristics/Specification These are needed to house mice in a safe environment and provide sufficient air flow to enable waste odors to be removed from the cage quickly and oxygen to flow in quickly. Must have one blower for 2 cage racks to reduce electrical use. The cage lids must have an external water bottle, so that the cages do not have to be opened just to fill water. This is especially important for BSL work, as well as for research protocols that require animals are given special water. During loss of power these racks MUST revert to static caging, eliminating the need to remove all cage lids from all mouse cages in the facility within an hour s time. (MUST!) The ability for supply air enters the cage from the cage base, and exhaust air exits from the cage lid, both via ASEP s (self-sealing ports). Cage lid must contains an exhaust airport from the cage to the rack, and that seals tightly to the rack. The port or ASEP must utilize a metal snap ring and NOT a rubber O ring. The IVC is fully adjustable regarding air velocity and pressure. The cage units shall work in either positive or negative mode with respect to the room. This system must provide a quieter environment (less than 35 dBA. Intra-cage air velocity must be sufficient to remove water vapor, carbon dioxide and ammonia but low enough to prevent discomfort to the animals. For IVC cage systems, the cage system should NOT have a baffle system, in order to effectively circulate the airflow. The airflow pattern should be supply air at the cage level and exhaust air at the lid level. No disassembly for sanitation or cleaning by a single person. The system is the size must be: depth 35 in x width 55.857 in x height 79.715 in Must have EcoFlo Tower blower, this is an essential component and provides the fresh air required (HEPA filtered), as well as removal of waste gases from each cage. Size (maximum): depth 27.000 x width 16.000 in x height 59.970. Weight 106 lbs Input/output connectors Both use our regular emergency power outlets in the animal rooms.
