- Description
- The Government intends to award a sole-source, one-year bridge contract in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 to allow for the continuation of services currently provided under contract HC1013-12-D-0001. HC1013-12-D-0001 is an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Firm Fixed Price (FFP) United States Atomic Energy Detection System (USAEDS) network contract. This bridge contract will allow additional time to complete the competitive follow-on contract, and ensure critical services are continued until all telecommunication service requirements can be transitioned to the follow-on contract. Continuation of telecommunications services provided for Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) is considered mission critical. This bridge action will provide up to an additional one year of performance from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, consisting of one six-month base with two three-month option periods. AFTAC is the sole Department of Defense agency responsible for monitoring nuclear treaty compliance. AFTAC has evolved into one of our nations most unique resources by monitoring worldwide compliance with nuclear treaties, supporting our nations space programs, and providing information that helps protect life during emergencies involving nuclear materials. AFTAC has a network of sensors known as the USAEDS network. It consists of a worldwide network of geophysical technologies deployed to detect, identify, and locate a nuclear explosion underground, underwater, in the atmosphere, and in space. The follow-on contract for continued USAEDS services is anticipated to be a small business set-aside utilizing GSA Schedule 70. The estimated date of award for the follow-on requirement is August 2023. Respectfully request that questions or comments concerning this acquisition be submitted via email to Katie Day at katie.s.day.civ@mail.mil no later than February 3, 2023, 1:00 CST.
