- This Amendment to RFQ 36C24824Q0663 to answer questions submitted. Does the VA have load banks on site or do we need to provide our own? Contractor will need to provide. Will the VA provide an electrician to wire to the load bank or will we need to provide our own? No, contractor must provide or sub-contractor a qualified electrician to perform connection and removal of wire. Can the load bank testing be completed during normal hours? No Does each system have a Maintenance Bypass Switch (MBS)? No If not, is the customer willing to take a load loss? No, however VA Directive approves a battery test. A battery test report can be provided in lieu of the load bank only when a MBS is not present. Where can a load bank be placed in relation to the UPS system? Same location as UPS units. How much cable is needed to get the load bank in a well-ventilated area? 15 feet max. See above. What is the purpose of the load bank? Load banking is a VA Directive as well as an NFPA requirement. Verification of UPS capacity? Riello Master HP 125KVA, Mitsubishi 1100B 80 KVA (Does not have a MBS) Battery discharge testing? Yes Duration of the load bank? Perform load bank at 80% until minimum ICV for battery manufacturer or perform battery test and provide test report. Will the end user require power quality meter reports of the load bank? Power quality meter report is not required.
