- Item Name:� HEAD,HYDRAULIC MOTOR-PUMP NSN: 4320007223536 Part Number: HD8821A Quantity: 77 with 100% option End Item: M88A1 RESPONSE DATE:� 15APR2024 REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION: The Injector Pump Head is a critical component of a highly specialized Air Cooled, V-Configuration, Diesel Ignition, Supercharged 1,790 cubic inch (AVDS-1790) engine assembly which operates in a unique military weapons system. The design of the Injector Pump Head is unique in that it is packaged in such a way to fit the current injection pump and subsequently within the valley of the AVDS-1790�s cylinders neatly while accommodating 12 fuel lines. Development of a similar Injector Pump Head would also be required to fit within this unique space claim without interference with existing components also collocated in the valley of the engine all while delivering fuel at the volume and pressure specific to satisfy the fuel demand of an AVDS-1790 engine. The Government does not have the pertinent technical data to enable competitive re-procurement. The Government does not own the necessary intellectual property data rights to the pertinent technical data to enable competitive re-procurement. The Government does not have rights to the Technical Data Package (TDP) or specifications that defines the procedures required to produce the Cylinder Head, Diesel Engine. Additionally, this sources sought notice is not for a developmental effort. Contractors interested in becoming a source for this item need to meet the requirements of the Source Approval Program. This is done at the contractor�s expense, to include vehicle level qualification testing. The TACOM Life Cycle Management Command, Competition Management Office (CMO), is the lead proponent for the Source Approval Program. Specific information and point of contact for the Source Approval Program is available at �https://www.tacom.army.mil/cmo/sap.html. While interested contractors can contact the CMO for assistance with the Source Approval Program, TACOM Engineering requires successful vehicle level qualification testing to support the approval of a new component; the Government has no plans, or funding, to complete qualification testing at this time. Please Note: -This notice is NOT an open solicitation i.e., Invitation for Bid (IFB) or Request for Proposal (RFP). -Technical data is not available for this item. -Qualification testing and evaluation is required to become an approved source. -Source approval does not guarantee business. -Qualifying as an approved source only provides the opportunity to compete on future solicitations.
