- N0016425SNB63 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION TR-343 Transducer Head Mass and Boot Assembly and TR-317 Transducer Head Mass and End Seal PSC 5845 NAICS 326291 Original Issue Date: 02 June 2025 - Closing Date: 17 June 2025 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI): In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e), the Government is issuing this RFI announcement as part of market research. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) is seeking information for market research purposes to procure TR-343 Transducer rubber molded boot assemblies and TR-317 Transducer rubber molded parts as a future requirement. The Government will have a requirement for repairing and providing the Fleet with these parts necessary to manufacture and repair the TR-343 and TR-317 Transducers and is accepting information regarding capabilities from companies potentially capable of meeting the requirements as described herein. BACKGROUND: NSWC Crane has been tasked with procuring TR-343 Transducer rubber molded boot assembly and TR-317 rubber molded parts. The boot assembly is molded to an aluminum machined head mass. The TR-343 Transducer is part of the AN/SQS-53C Hull Mounted Sonar Array that supports the AN/SQQ-89(V) Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) system. The AN/SQQ-89(V) is a fully integrated Surface Ship Undersea Warfare (USW) combat system with the capability to search, detect, classify, localize, and attack submarine targets. The TR-343 Transducers are critical components to the AN/SQS 53C necessary to produce mechanical motion in the water for generation of sonar signals when a large voltage is applied. Additionally, NSWC Crane is seeking information for the TR-317 Transducer Housing and End Seal, which are rubber molded pieces that are molded to metal pieces. The TR-317 Transducer is utilized on all SN 688, 688i, and SSN 774 Block I/II AN/BQQ-10(V) sonar suites. These transducers are mounted in a spherical array consisting of 1,241 TR-317 Transducers. These units are in the bow of the submarine and serve as primary safety of ship sonar array. A potential company shall be able to manufacture, test, and provide these parts in accordance with each parts drawings and deliver the military grade parts and have processes and parts storage/management facilities in place that enable successfully delivery time requirements.
