Description Intent to Sole Source 36C24225Q0752. This is an Intent to Sole Source, this is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to provide information based on this requirement. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 2, Regional Procurement Office - East, on behalf of the Department of Veterans Affairs, James J Peters VAMC, 130 W Kingsbridge Rd, Bronx, NY 10468, intends to award a firm-fixed-price award to GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, Inc., 9900 Innovation Dr., Wauwatosa, WI 53226 for CareScape Central Station Upgrade. The James J. Peters VA Medical Center is looking to purchase a fleet replacement for the GE Healthcare Central Stations at various inpatient wards. monitoring equipment, which will also need to be capable of interfacing with the existing patient monitoring equipment throughout the hospital and the existing VA system, in terms of network and integration with the VA s Electronic Health Record system, VistA. The central stations are employed to consolidate all inpatient vital signs onto a centralized monitor located at the nurse s central station. This monitor is actively monitored by nursing staff and administration within the unit for the purposes of record keeping, documentation, data storage, and patient care management. This sole source award to GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, Inc., is in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901 as implemented by way of the procedures outline in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 13.5. This Sole Source is authorized under FAR subpart 13.106-1(b) - soliciting from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of this contract action deem only one source reasonably available. This is not a request for competitive offers, quotes, or capability statements. No solicitation will be posted as a result of this notice. This Special Notice is being issued for information purposes only. The formal Justification & Approval for this action shall be posted on this site in accordance with FAR Part 6.305(a) within 14 days after final award.
