- Description
- TITLE: AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES, INC 5200 FRAGENT ANALYER INSTRUMENT, AND COMPUTER AND MONITOR. Product Service Code: 6650: Optical Instruments, Test Equipment, Components and Accessories. NAICS Code: 334111 - Electronic Computer Manufacturing. Place of Performance: Bethesda, MD 20892 POTS: 25-007876 Description This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued, and quotations will not be requested. The National Institutes of Health, Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts on behalf of Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM) intends to award a firm-fixed priced sole source basis to Agilent Technologies, Inc 2850 Centerville RD Wilmington, Delaware 19808-1610 USA. The procurement of the following items listed below from Agilent Technologies, Inc. LINE # List of Equipment: Catalog # Qty Controller and analysis software M5310AA 1 capillary array (price added to instrument), and installation/familiarization services. 02 Fragment Analyzer Verification Kit DNF-FSEW-OQ 1 Agilent Technologies, Inc will supply these items for Department of Transfusion Medicine (DTM). The Agilent 5200 Fragment Analyzer System is needed to replace the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer instrument that has been discontinued for about two years now. The Fragment Analyzer System not only replaces the Bioanalyzer instrument, but it does so in a way that improves performance, scalability, and workflow efficiency. The Agilent 5200 Fragment Analyzer System uses a proprietary parallel capillary electrophoresis technology and automated pre-set methods and software to enable increased accuracy and reproducibility along with high detection sensitivity. Unique features of the Fragment Analyzer that are relevant to our lab needs include large sample handling capabilities, high sensitivity and resolution, a wide sample application range, and automated operations. These software kits from The Agilent 5200 Fragment Analyzer System will enable DTM to evaluate these metrics in a high-throughput and cost-effective manner. It supports the analysis of a number of DNA and RNA sample types, including messenger RNA, small RNAs, and genomic DNA, all of which are investigated in our lab. Its high-throughput, automated design saves on software costs and enables reproducibility of sample investigation, all while maintaining a high degree of sensitivity and detection resolution. The current instrument we have for RNA/DNA/NGS library Quality Control has been discontinued. The instrument is quite old, unreliable, and approaching end-of-life. Accurate assessment of patient DNA, RNA, and NGS library preparations is critical to almost all research studies currently conducted in the lab. Without a replacement system we would suffer delays in research projects or must turn to more low-tech, less precise methods for sample Quality Control. It is not in the best interest of the government to use resources for qualifying and validating from other vendors with quality control approval and submitting IND amendment to the FDA for seeking FDAs permission to use alternate vendor for this software kit for these product manufacturing. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstance of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements. Interested Parties: Interested parties capable of providing the same or similar products or services described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capability to perform the described work. Capability Statements must be received within the time set forth in this synopsis to be considered by the Government. The determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
