Description
NOTICE OF INTENT FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Norfolk District, intends to procure, on a sole source or brand name or equal basis, a multifunction device (MFD) printer capable of printing and scanning black & white and color prints and is compatible with our existing systems at Fort Lee, VA. The component will be procured via a separate SAM notice to be published later, estimated for July 2025. USACE intends to require the component for specific systems product line. The manufacturers product has unique capabilities that meet the users stringent requirements for top-quality, security, and maintains compatibility with existing systems. Unless indicated to be as a brand name or equal requirement, the company listed in the table below is the only manufacturer in the industry for the component to meet the required specifications, warranty requirements, size limitations, delivery & installation needs, and maintain compatibility with the existing systems already tested and in use. The Lexmark MFD CX622ade is aligned with our long-term goals and objectives to print, scan and copy in black & white and color to support field office functions. This office is currently setup for full network printers and the printer requires CAC-enablement for secured network access for up to 10 users. This MFD printer takes up substantially less space, is easier to maintain, and has the quietest operation based on comparable printers using LED technology. The speed of printing is acceptable, and the scanner function will assist us to free up storage space in the offices with having hard copy drawings so we can digitize our project documents. This MFD laser printer will also need to utilize Letter and Legal paper size. In addition to technical specifications, this procurement will require a 3-year warranty for parts and labor. Other MFDs on the approved CIO/G6 hardware list were considered, but this MFD meets the requirements necessary for the Fort Gregg Adams Office for capabilities, budget, and space. The Contracting Officer intends to prepare a Justification and Approval documentation (J&A) which includes brand name (BN) or brand name or equal (BNE) items for the solicitation package. The HP MFD DesignJet XL3600 is identified as BN or BNE under FAR 6.302-1 and DFARS 206.302-1 and included to sufficiently define the scope of work to be performed, and adequately establish the required level of product quality.
