- Does the acceptance testing of the new transformer need to be completed by NETA certified technicians? Yes Is the transformer to be replaced currently de-energized and only being used for backup? The transformer is currently out of service pending repairs scheduled to be completed during Summer 2025. The bidding contractors shall assume the transformer will need to be de-energized prior to work start. Is there a preferred day of the week and time of day for the transformer replacement? There is no preference, coordination with facilities will be required to minimize impact. What is the maximum duration for the redundant transformer to be unavailable during replacement? 1 week maximum. Please provide specific details on how the existing transformer being replaced will be turned over. (set to the side of the yard or transported to a designated location?) The transformer can be set to the side within the secure fence in a location to not impede access to other equipment. Does the facility have one-line drawings, as-builts, or design drawings of any kind for the current primary switchgear, transformer, and secondary switchgear? Refer to Attachment B _ ES107 _ Electrical Site Plan This attachment is from the original design at time of award. Actual installation of the transformer may vary slightly. Does the facility know the correct lockout locations to isolate the transformer being replaced? Lockout locations are in the adjacent switchgear within the secure fence area. Please confirm no testing or new terminations are required for the existing MV cables. Testing of new terminations is not required as the existing terminations are to be re-used. Testing may be required if the existing terminations are damaged during construction and need to be replaced. Do you have pictures of the Medium Voltage and Low Voltage connection compartments. Just would like to see the conduit arrangement and the connections. Refer to Attachment A _ Pictures Are transformers in the basis of design memo what was originally purchased?� Yes Is the VA looking for a direct replacement of the failed one? Yes. If Yes then in the specifications that were sent out the installation instructions 3.1.A, B, C, D.1,.2, .3 would have already been done by the initial installer of the transformer Concrete pad, anchors, and grounding rods are all existing. The new transformer shall be mounted to the existing concrete pad using existing anchors to secure the unit. Contractor is responsible for any additional anchors that may be required to for proper installation. 3.4 - Spare parts are they required as part of this bid? Yes 3.5 - Instruction - is this still required? Not Needed Q13. A previous notice described a transformer in Bath, NY as well? Is this a part of this project? The Bath transformer was able to be replaced in-house and is not a part of this project.
