- Description
- The Peace Corps, Office of the Chief Financial Officer/Acquisition and Contract Management, gives notice of intent to award a single source purchase order to Discovery Education, Inc. 4350 Congress Street, Suite 700, Charlotte NC, 28209-4953, UNITED STATES for creating new global educational resources and publish and hosting previously created educational resources. The period of performance for this effort will be a base year of 12-months with three (3) 12- month option periods. The procurement will be issued under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6 and FAR Part 13.5, Soliciting from a single source, and using simplified acquisition procedures per FAR Part 13. The Peace Corps anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 611710 � Educational Support Services. The Peace Corps Global Connections program is seeking to expand the content offered and scale the reach of the program with educators and students throughout the United States. Discovery Education is the sole vendor identified through market research with an existing educational platform for delivering digital curriculum with the capability of expanding Global Connection�s reach to at least one million U.S. educators. Discovery Education, Inc. will create new global education resources and update existing resources to better align with educational standards, provide a web?based solution to share these resources with a broad group of American educators and students, and to capture usage metrics and educator feedback sufficient to track progress and align future content development with educator needs. This requirement supports the creation of digital educational resources, including interactive and multimedia content; distribution of this content via a web-based platform; reporting on content usage; and marketing of content to U.S.-based educators. The vendor will provide end-to-end support for the creation of a digital curriculum suite, publish this content on a dedicated project website that is free and open to the public, and publish the same content on their subscription- based educator platform. The vendor will provide monthly metrics reports to identify how many educators and learners are benefiting from the content. The determination not to compete this proposed contract is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objective of the Peace Corps.
