Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Regional Procurement Office Central, Great Lakes Acquisition Center, Network Contracting Office 12, located at 115 S. 84th Street, Suite 101, Milwaukee, WI 53214-1476, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to Boundless Assistive Technology LLC, located at 27600 SW 95th Avenue, Suite 100, Wilsonville, OR 97070. This purchase order is for the procurement of assistive technology specifically designed for use by low vision and/or blind veterans. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 334111, Laptop Computers Manufacturing. The Edward J. Hines, Jr. VA Hospital's Blind Rehabilitation Center, Assistive Technology Department, requires laptops integrated with assistive technology software. This necessity arises from a recent increase in the patient population, which has subsequently heightened the demand for assistive technology training services. With an expanding group of blind and visually impaired veterans, there is an immediate requirement to provide these individuals with the essential computer literacy and adaptive technology skills necessary to support their independence, communication, and rehabilitation objectives. Training on computer systems is of paramount importance, as it facilitates patient access to vital services, educational resources, and employment opportunities. By awarding this sole source contract to Boundless Assistive Technology LLC, the VA aims to meet the immediate needs of its visually impaired veteran population efficiently and effectively. This notice fulfills the requirement under FAR 5.201(b)(1) to publicize the proposed contract action. This is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation documents are available. Interested parties may submit written notice to Stacy.Massey@va.gov by 5:00 PM EST on June 28, 2025. Submissions must include sufficient details to demonstrate the capability to meet the specific requirements. This information will be considered at no cost or obligation to the Government. While the Government will review all responses, the final decision to engage in a competitive process remains solely at the Government's discretion. Inquiries should be directed via email to Stacy.Massey@va.gov. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Responses must provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be beneficial to the Government for future procurements.
