- Description
- Title of Event: Ground Based Radar Digitization On-Site Site Visit Industry Day Audience: Members of the USSF and Industry Representatives When: January 7, 2026, 10:00 AM 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) Where: Cape Cod Space Force Station, 71 Pave Paws Rd, Bourne, MA 02542 Background. The U.S. Space Force maintains several Upgraded Early Warning Radars (UEWRs) and the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS). These radars are capable of detecting ballistic missile attacks and conducting general space surveillance and satellite tracking. They are located across both the United States and United States European Command. The GBR modernization effort supports the National Defense Strategy by continuing missile warning (MW), missile defense (MD), missile tracking (MT), and improving space domain awareness (SDA) capabilities. The program will: Digitize six radar sites (5x UEWR, 1x PARCS) to improve space domain awareness capabilities and address sustainment challenges and obsolescence. Enhance radar performance, including increased tracking capacity, extended range, and improved object classification. Transition to a government-owned, modular open system architecture with a high level of commonality between UEWR and PARCS back ends At the front-end, high-power Radio Frequency (RF) components will be retained as well as the communications paths out of the radars Purpose. United States Space Force (USSF) is seeking information from industry regarding the modernization of Ground Based Radars (GBR) under GBRD. This effort aims to digitize legacy radar systems to enhance battlespace situational awareness, reduce sustainment costs, and address obsolescence issues. The USSF is particularly interested in solutions that: Leverage open system, non-proprietary architectures to ensure future scalability and avoid vendor lock. Utilize Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) technology to minimize development risks and costs. Incorporate existing, developed digital receiver technology as the baseline receiver for the system (data package will be provided later). This event is intended to: Ensure synergy between the Ground Based Radar Digitization Program Office and Industry. Allow Industry to provide feedback contributing to the requirements development process. Learn more about the GBRD program requirements and schedule. Gain a better understanding of recent industry developments and commercial opportunities. Learning Opportunities. This Industry Day event features a site ordination focused on the GBRD Program and to provide valuable learning opportunities and understanding of the current UEWR (technologies). Access Requirements: Due to space and time restriction limited to one representative per company. This site visit is designed for systems or integration engineers. US Government Secret Clearance Required. RSVP to POC listed below by 5:00 PM EST on December 17, 2025. Complete Site Access Visitor Access Request by 5:00 PM EST on December 17, 2025. https://dbids-global-enroll.dmdc.mil/preenrollui/#/landing-page. (Requisite information to complete this will be provided by POC upon RSVP.) Site Visit: Only held between 10:00 AM 2:00 PM EST on January 7, 2026. Each interested offeror will be allowed a maximum of one person to attend and will only be permitted to enter the Restricted Area (RA) during assigned times. Check in required at the security checkpoint; a Security Forces team member will verify identification with provided information. Attendees will be expected to comply with the requirements set forth in the attached Site Security Requirements. All offerors entering the RA are subject to a background investigation. No photography is permitted.
