Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) Small Arms Marksmanship Trainer (SAM-T)Technology Refresh of Device No. 3F89INTRODUCTION: The Department of the Navy, Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD), Orlando, FL, is issuing this RFI to gather industry input regarding the Small Arms Marksmanship Trainers (SAM-T) and technology refresh of Device No. 3F89. The SAM-T and facility is currently sixty (60) lanes, and enables Navy recruits to meet the small arms training, qualifications, and scoring requirements of the Navy Handgun Qualification Course. The SAM-T is currently located at Naval Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes, IL. It is the future goal of RTC to have 120 SAM-T firing lanes. The Government seeks to gather information on commercially available solutions that can deliver than 120 lanes, untethered, training system, including firearms, that replicates the M18 service pistol IAW PRF 250070. The Government is also seeking input on whether facility and/or infrastructure modifications (e.g., electrical, HVAC, structural) are necessary to support the upgrade to 120 lanes. Respondents are encouraged to provide detailed assessments based on their experience and expertise. Additionally, the Government seeks to determine whether contractors COTS solutions can accommodate 120 lanes within the existing footprint of the current 60-lane facility. Respondents are encouraged to provide detailed information on the scalability and space efficiency of their solutions, including any potential constraints or modifications required to achieve this goal. To assist respondents in evaluating the feasibility of accommodating 120 lanes within the existing footprint of the current 60-lane facility, a drawing of the building footprint (provided in PDF format) is included as an attachment to this RFI.
