B -- NATIONAL SAMPLE SURVEY OF REGISTERED NURSES VI SOL HRSA 240-OA-20(5) POC Contact Point, Mike Suess, (301)443-5672, Contracting Officer, Steven Zangwill The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is requesting proposals for a study to obtain data on the numbers and characteristics of the registered nurse population in the United States. This procurement is subject to the availability of funds. Through mail questionnaires sent to a representative sample of registered nurses in the country, the study will provide data on the estimated number of nurses; their professional and personal characteristics including such characteristics as their age, racial/ethnic, and educational background; their employment status including location, type of employment, hours of work and salary; their geographic location, and their geographic and employment mobility. This study will be the sixth in a series of National Sample Surveys of Registered Nurses utilizing a survey design specially developed for this series. The Government will be responsible for developing the questions to be used in the survey and for the preparation of the analysis of the data. The purpose of this project is to carry out the activities necessary to obtaining the survey responses, processing the data and preparing the survey results for analysis. Funding is not currently available for this survey. The RFP will be issued subject to the availability of funds. (0188)
