The National Park Service, Denver Service Center, 12795 West Alameda Parkway, Denver, Colorado 80225 is soliciting proposals from construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. Contract work will be performed at West Lakes and St. Mary, Glacier National Park, Montana. A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded, requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The Government will consider an offeror's capability in comparison to its price. The work of this contract consists of general construction of designing, furnishing materials and equipment, installing and testing sprinkler and alarm systems in living quarters and office/shop buildings. The detection systems, to be installed in twelve park buildings, shall include detectors, alarms, conductors, conduit, phone lines, control panels, digital communicators, and all required accessories. The suppression systems, to be installed in seven buildings (ten through additive) shall include new water supplies and dry pipe sprinkler systems with concealed piping. Six of the twelve buildings are historic structures. All work will be performed under a single contract. The estimated range of cost for construction is $250,000 to $500,000. A Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued approximately 21 days from the publication of this requirement, on or about 7/21/99. A pre-proposal site meeting will be held on or about 8/10/99. This solicitation is open to small and large businesses. Requests for the RFP must be in writing. Project documents may also be viewed at various plan rooms.
