Description

This project is for sign installation along Centennial-Divde Road #100 and Gravelly Range Road #290. Work will include sign removal and disposal, furnish and install sign panels, furnish posts and a sign base. The most common access route to the Centennial-Divide Road #100 is to take State Hwy #287 to Alder, MT. At Alder, go south on County Road #248 and continue south past the Ruby Reservoir. Approximately 4 miles past the reservoir, the road junctions with County Road #142 (southeast). This is where the signing project begins and will continue along County Road #142 (approximately 11 miles), then along Forest Service Road #100 and ending at the junction with N. Valley County Road (approximately 29 miles). The Gravelly Range Road #290 is accessed by going to Varney Bridge south of Ennis, MT. Approximately 2 to 2.5 miles beyond Varney Bridge, the road junctions with Forest Road #292. This is where the signing will begin for the Gravelly Range Road #290 segment (approximately 40 miles). These mileage figures do not include the connecting roads or spurs. This sign installation project is on the Madison Ranger District, Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, Beaverhead and Madison Counties, Montana. Work is estimated to begin on August 31, 2001; Contract time is 100 days. Price Range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Aproximate issue date is July 20, 2001.
